Outing Tips

Jindřichův Hradec and its vicinity is a much sought after location by both domestic and foreign tourists. Visitors who are active in sports will find plenty of attractive biking routes in the countryside with abundant lakes and forests (e will gladly lend you maps with biking trails). Not far from the owner’s house is a hiking trail in the woods suitable for roller skating. Swimming is possible in the sand pits nearby (Jindřiš- 3km, Jarošov nad Nežárkou -2 km) or in the aqua park (4 km), which features multiple recreational facilities, e.g., a heated pool, a toboggan (82m), and other attractions, such as wild river, massage nozzles, water bell, etc. For more information go to: http://bazen.jh.cz/. Mushroom hunters can start picking mushrooms right behind the house. The local railways of Jindřichův Hradec, Místní Dráhy, operate two narrow-rail tracks to Nová Bystřice and Obrataň http://jhmd.cz/. During the summer season, the train is frequently pulled by a historic steam locomotive, which is a great experience not only for children.

Since Jindřichův Hradec is situated close to the borders with Austria (27 km), outings to nearby historic towns of our neighbors is a logical and frequently used opportunity.
